lead grey Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating. The case is prepared here in New Zealand then applied with the DLC coating by our specialist partner in the United States. DLC coating has many commercial applications, including machine tools, aerospace parts, F1 engine parts, pharmaceutical implants, and of course, high end watches.
DLC coating is a diamond like film with excellent protective properties. Diamond is the hardest known material, electrically insulating and anti-allergic. The carbon atoms of the DLC coating are bonded as in diamonds and its properties resemble the ones of diamond in many ways (hence, Diamond-like-Carbon), making the coating of a watchcase more resistant and the surface 5 times harder than steel.
The engine of this timepiece is an automatic ETA. It is reliable and accurate, just as you would expect from a Swiss movement. This is finished off with your choice of a strap in black or tan leather.

To compliment these wonderful pieces, we have placed them in handmade boxes that are crafted from timber, milled from the Kauri tree - a protected New Zealand native - engraved with our logo and inlaid with black New Zealand paua shell.
Giant Kauri trees were considered by Maori to be the kings of New Zealand forests. The Kauri is one of the largest and oldest growing trees in the world.
